Traverse City, MI - SEEDS announces their first-ever "School Of Rock" music camp to be held at the Twin Lakes Camp on Long Lake Rd. featuring some of the hardest working and most well-known professional musicians in the state of Michigan.

Students in 7th through 12th grades are invited to attend. There will be multiple workshops happening at the same time, and ample time to enjoy at least two sessions each day of camp. There will also be time to explore outdoors, swim in the lake, kayak, hike, or play some basketball.

For families and the public, Thursday will host an evening concert and all-ages jamboree.

"There will be workshops for all levels of musical experience from beginners to advanced musicians." says Dan Shoup, SEEDS Coordinator and one of the lead organizers, "Everyone is encouraged to bring instruments if they have their own, but SEEDS will also provide numerous instruments for the workshops as needed."

Camp Cost: $150 for the week (unless the student attends one of our partner schools - then they can see their Site Coordinator)
Camp Dates: Monday through Thursday, June 18-21, 2012
Camp Hours: 10am-3pm
Location: Twin Lakes Park, 6800 N Long Lake Rd. Traverse City, MI 49684
Who: Students, grades 7-12, and SEEDS favorite musicians including: Seth Bernard, Joshua Davis, Rachel Davis, Jeff Haas, Ron Getz and more!

Lunch will be provided on Thursday, but students are asked to bring a sack lunch the first three days, in addition to swimsuits, towels, and plenty of sunscreen. SEEDS will provide a certified lifeguard and a healthy dose of FUN!

Also, we would like to invite all families and friends to join us on Thursday for a BBQ lunch provided by SEEDS followed by some family workshops and our student variety show!

The camp is about 6 miles from Traverse City on N. Long Lake Rd. If you get to Moomers, you have gone too far.

Musical arts and crafts provided by Blackbird Arts. Students will make handmade
instruments and learn about music and cultures from around the world.

SEEDS After School Program

SEEDS provides after school programming at select schools in Northwest Michigan, supported in part by Michigan Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Centers grants. We provide learning opportunities and access to healthy role models, mentors, and community advisers. Programs are designed specifically to supplement the school day making learning hands-on and fun.
