| July 08 | Hello Everyone!
We have a really exciting month! At the end of the month we are going to embark on a tour out west! This will be our second trip out together and this time we have a very special addition… Mr. Michael Shimmin on the drums! We are looking so forward to what we can do as a trio on this tour. We kick off the tour with a farewell show at Bells Brewery and then on to our very first show in Chicago. We are nervous and really pumped for this venture out on the road, hoping to spread our music around and return to Michigan with tales to tell.

We are so very happy that they are gracing this state with their wonderful music, and are so excited to welcome them. We have two very special shows planned with them. Also, more new! We are going to Ethiopia! Our dear friends at On the Ground are raising money for the schools in Ethiopian communities by running over 200 miles across the country of Ethiopia. Are we running too? Well maybe a little, but we’re going to play music in the schools and in celebration of the run, but we are also going to write songs about our experiences there. When we get home we will make an album about the area that will be sold to benefit the schools in Ethiopia! We could really use your help… Please consider making a donation! | | June 02 | My dear good people,
I want to tell you about a place called the Yellow Dog Plains way up north in the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's waters are pure and true and they run into the great lake, mother superior. The Great Lakes hold one fifth of the world's fresh water. The Plains hold "eagle rock", a sacred site the the Anishinaabe native tribe. When I went the this place, I felt hope because it felt wild and pure. I stood on eagle rock and thanked the sky for the fact that there was still land left, that our greed and ignorance had not taken every last corner of the earth. That I could still go and breathe the air, feel the cold clean water on my face, hear the birds in the trees and walk and explore and be with nature. This was many years ago now.
Many of you know already that Kennecott Eagle Minerals Company has applied for a metallic sulfide mining permit. They are the first to apply for sulfide mining in Michigan and they have chosen the Yellow Dog Plains as their site. We have worked long and hard to try and protect this land. So many people have given years of their life to stand up for this precious land. Kennecott is moving in. They have already started their process of destruction. Sulfide Mining has a horrific history of permanently destroying the land and the water all of the world. It is incredible to look at photographs and to hear the stories of loss and deception. It is very serious and terrifying. By approving this mine we are also approving future sulfide mining in Michigan. They have already pinpointed more sites across the U.P. all in precious places close to our precious Great Lakes. Why would anyone approve a permit like this? What could possibly be worth sacrificing our greatest resource and our home? In our fragile economic state it is easy to trade our morals and our dreams for a job and some money to feed our families. It is easy for a giant corporation to bribe us and to distract us from the truth and our rights. If we cant begin to consider our home and the sustainability of our eco-system when we look at our economic situation we will crash and burn. We need to move towards a future where of our health and the earth's well being is valued.
Right now, we are being called. We are being called as citizens of this state and stewards of this land, to stand up and fight for it. We have offered our rights and put our home in the hands of a giant corporation that does not consider our children, that does not consider our well being, but only looks for the bottom line at the end of each day. We need to take this back. We need to show up and make history here. The people's voice is inside of us, we simply need to speak and sing and scream it out. We need to own it. This is the time.
This Thursday June 3rd at 11am we are gathering at our state capitol in Lansing to stand for our land. I am asking you to be there. There will not be another chance. Please. This is it.

We recorded the record in our house on the hill at the farm last October. Seth on guitars, Michael Shimmin on drums and percussion, Joshua Davis on keys, Dominic John on the bass, engineered by Ian Gorman and many special guests.

Seth finished his new album "Is This You?", the companion piece to "This Here". Recorded during the same session as "This Here", Seth decided to split the piece in half. "Is This You?" is a beautiful journey!

Happy Fall!
I hope this finds you all well. Just got done with the basic tracking of a new album! I'm really excited and hope to get it out to you all in the spring!
It was exciting to hear that Love Labor was #24 on the Americana charts for awhile. Thank you all for supporting that album! The reason it was on the charts is because you called your radio station to request a song!
There are some nice shows coming up here in Michigan and we plan to do a bit of traveling in the late winter!

I wanted to let you know that there are some really cool things happening in Traverse City next weekend. It's the Great Lakes Bioneers Conference!
An amazing event featuring local movers and shakers, and some of the top national faces in the environmentalism movement speaking via satellite. There are hands on work shops every day for you to learn, meet people and get involved! If you have not been to your local Bioneers it's an amazing investment in your community's future! Not to mention the food is amazing and Earthwork music Provides music Friday night and the Ragbirds on Saturday!
The Conference starts on Friday the 17th, but there is a pre-conference media revolution with your host Bob Russell on Thursday afternoon. This is not just for geeks and techies; it's for anyone who is interested in communication, how to get your message out through local, independent media; learning about the tools of public access and how to create stories that communicate to the larger public. The Neahtwanta Center is bringing the director of the public access TV in Burlington, Vermont here along with her assistant, to speak and be involved with the media conference. Her name is Lauren Glenn and she is a brilliant inspiration!

We can no longer count on the DEQ or other officials to stand up for our precious resources. It's going to take a whole lot of action; we're going to have to stand up for what we want our children's future to be like.
Please stop buying bottled water! Please plan ahead and bring good clean water from your home with you on the rd., travel with your water bottle!
Nestle has been robbing us blind, and draining our aquifers. Boycott this company with all your might.
