Big Dudee Roo's sound is saturated with folk rock. Ever since I first came across their music back in 2011, I was a fan. The band's become known for their deep lyricism and heavy dudee sound. Though Max Lockwood has historically written the bulk of the band's material, with their recent release "Dudee Free", guitarist Nate Wagner steps in as a contributing songsmith penning "Waking Up" and "Nothing Good Today".
I was drawn to "Nothing Good Today" from the opening hook. The electric tone farming on this track by lead guitarist, Justin Dore, can only be described as "otherworldly!" To me, this song represents the power of persistence and perseverance in the face of opposition. In a time when it seems that countless people are being placed under scrutiny and judgement by societal norms and popular belief systems, there couldn't be more need for perseverance and persistence. As we go along, may we bask in the glory of beginning again and learning from all the mistakes that have ever happened in the world. If you ever feel like you've done nothing good today - remember, it's only a song.
