Hailing from Northern Michigan, Luke Winslow-King is a singer/songsmith,
multi-instrumentalist and composer on a journey to become a
true musical expeditionary. Inspired by New Orleans old time
music, impressionism, delta blues, and classical composition,
his sound is both rustic and elegant.
Beginning his studies at Interlochen Arts Academy, his musical
education has led him to Prague, New York, and New Orleans.
Continuously searching for his own sound and vision, Winslow-
King completed several national tours, attended various music
schools, and
most importantly, studied privately with composers and musicians
who have profoundly contributed to his artistic outlook. He
is constantly reinventing himself and experimenting with his
talents in composition, guitar, piano, orchestration, improvisation
and performance.
Luke's latest album marries people's music with elements of
poetry and classical composition through his songs for strings,
guitar and voice.
As a founding member of Earthwork Music, Luke is passionately
invested in fostering creativity and continuing the tradition
of folk music in Northern Michigan.
